What I Hope to Accomplish

A few personal goals that I just thought of in the past two minutes, for my time in Europe:

To return from Greece with water and earth (what now Xerxes!).

To "suffer" a Pyrrhic victory somewhere in Western Greece.

To get lost in the Catacombs.

To find something for Gigs in the town of Gigliotti.

To "cross the Rubicon" while crossing the Rubicon.

To wash my laundry in the Tiber.

Don't tell him, but I'm planning on jumping Caleb while we're in the Colosseum. He'll NEVER live down being defeated by me in literally the world's most epic arena.

To hike barefoot through the Alps.

To find the street vendor who sold me a ring seven years ago while I was living in Germany. He was really nice, and I need to buy another ring since I lost the old one. It was a symbol to me of God's faithfulness to me when I felt alone. Then I lost it. Ouch.

To re-inhabit Lagan castle (it really exists okay).

Not sure if I'll be able to swing it, but it would be really cool to take a bathroom break in Belgium. That's all I've ever done in the country. I've been there twice trying to get somewhere else, and both times I only stepped out of the car in order to relieve myself. I figure three bathroom breaks in three trips to Belgium would be a pretty good streak.

That's a few to get me started. As we travel I'm sure I'll add a few more and strike a few from the list. I'll keep you updated on the goal success to failure ratio.

  1. If I hadn't learned to play gladiator when I was four I might be worried. "DIAMOND DIAMOND!!!"

  2. I'm gonna hold you to that gift for Gigliotti.
Love all you Lagans. Cant wait to drink coffee while looking over your photos when you get back.
    Be well brother!

  3. Daniel... these are probably the most worthwhile goals I've ever heard about. I wish you success in the attempt.

I declare along with my ancestors... the Celtic warriors of old
